- Luzerne County Community College Northumberland Regional Center: Located on the fourth floor of the Northumberland County Career and Arts Center in downtown Shamokin. - Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU): CSIU serves local children and families through Early Head Start, Head Start at the Shamokin Annex, early intervention, and after-school and summer programming for Shamokin Elementary students.

- NORCO: Northumberland County Organizational Resources for Community Outreach operates a Shamokin drop-in center and peer/community support activities for people living with mental-health challenges. Call 570-644-9088 for current location, hours, and programs.

Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library: 210 East Independence Street, Shamokin; 570-648-3202. The library offers Northumberland County library cards, Wi-Fi, computers, online resources, interlibrary loans, family museum passes, storytimes, book clubs, and inclusive activities. Parks, Playgrounds and Recreation
- Claude Kehler Community Park: West Arch Street, Shamokin. The park supports recreation, concerts, festivals, public gatherings, and pavilion rentals. Call City Hall at 570-644-0876 for rental information.
- Volunteer Park: A day-use green space for picnics, community events, open-space activities, and passive recreation. A city master plan proposes an accessible playground, shaded picnic areas, a rain garden, and a bridge connection to Claude Kehler Park. Follow the Volunteer Park project for progress.

- Strausser Shroyer Memorial Swimming Pool: 132 North Rock Street, Shamokin. The municipal pool operates seasonally, weather permitting; confirm current schedules and rates with the City.

Arts and Community Connection
The Northumberland County Council for the Arts & Humanities at Eighth and Arch Streets presents cultural programs and the Anthracite Heritage Festival.
